Hi, Hope you two want to supply before and afer pictures and a story, I could sure use you on the site testimonial pages. The forum is getting a lot of members joining lately and I am hoping that people will become a lot more active.

I had a great meeting today with the dietitian to write the course with me, i am pretty excited about it because she has been able to expand a few ideas that will make us different to the rest.

I will post the progress as it happens on a new thread.

Hi Tracey, It does work - you will get to your goal weight Just keep with it and dont give in, if you have lapse, don't panic cos tomorrow is a new day. Cut yourself some slack, it has taken years for you to put on the weightyou now want to lose, take it off in bite sized chunks, even a 1lb loss a week is a 1lb in the right direction!

Re:Weekly Weigh In! 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Morning everyone! My weigh day has usually been a Friday morning which I'd like to stick to even though I didn't start on the plate until Sunday - I'm extremely pleased to report a loss of just over 3.5lb since last Friday! Brilliant - that's with a quite 'bad' Friday and Saturday but having a very good Sunday to Thursday. First time the scales have moved with any sort of momentum downwards all this year. Going to have another good day today, a definite day off tomorrow as out in Bradford for the day for someone's birthday do (although I can be a bit more selective on my curry than usual and I'm not planning on drinking much either which gives me the munchies), staying overnight so a cafe breakfast could be on the cards Sunday morning, but as soon as I get home later on Sunday I'm going back to my plate for my tea/evening meal. Sure this loss will slow down for next week but this is an excellent kickstart and mindset for me to take into my 2nd week.

Hope everyone else has had a good week too, I'm really chuffed!

Fantastic Debs,

Putting your greasy spoon aside on Saturady morning, I am hoping that you will be just as pleased next week! Please tell your birthday buddies about TDP, we need all the help we can get.

Advice for your Fry up - 1 egg, 1 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 toast, 1 beans and a load of juicy tomatoes with scrummy black pepper on, will give you half of what they would normally serve and therefore half the calories! (Even though it will be more than a diet plate portion.

If you don't want to go over your calories then 2 rounds of toast with tons of tomatoes and black pepper, maybe 1 egg. All you will be counting there is your egg and the toast, maybe 350 calories tops!

Have a lovely evening. I'd text you this if we had the facility to do diet buddies on a mobile phone. LOL!

Re:Weekly Thursday Weigh In! 2 Months ago Karma: 2
Hi All,

I managed to lose a pound which in all fairness is not bad. The last three weeks I had my parents over so it has been like holiday mode for me as well. However exercise and loads of walking has been on the menu too, it is TOTM and I have eaten out three times this week. So I am amazed but I have been controlling portions as best as I can.

Bye for now.

Re:Weekly Thursday Weigh In! 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Morning all! My Friday weekly weigh and another loss of 1.5lbs using the plate for 6 out of the 7 days (last Saturday day off and Sunday morning having a much larger breakfast than I'd usually have but compensating by calling it brekky/lunch and then getting back to the plate at teatime).

Been having fruit and/or cold meat and salad/low fat yog for lunch all week and really tasty well balanced main evening meals. I'm definitely no more hungry in the evening having had it served on the DP compared to old habit of having a pile double the size in a large bowl - still feel I've had plenty once I've had some fruit and a yog afterwards.

Early days yet but very pleased with progress and that means I'm already half way to my mini target of losing 10lb. When I get closer to that, I'm going to set another target of another 2-3lbs and then I'll be very happy. Will aim for slow and steady now at a 1lb a week.

Good luck everyone

Hi Sammy,

Having been an ex-pat myself for ten years, I totally understand the lifestyle and the pressures it puts on to your shoulders. If I can help, and you want to have a private discussion, then email me directly at kay.illingworth@thedietplate.com sometimes just getting things off your chest realy helps you move on.
Best

Well hello people... it has been a while but I have been on holiday for 3 weeks.. :o) There is still a lot going on in my life with moves and changes etc... but I digress, I weighed in today and for 3 weeks on holiday, and erm, not following the plate but being quite active and trying to keep an eye on what I eat... I have stayed the same at 21. 5 :o)

So I am quite happy about that!!!

Back to it and back to work now :o)

Good luck all.
